Odd Fellows and Rebekahs
  • We are a fraternal organization and we have been caring for the aged since 1905. Our heritage of caring has provided us with over 100 years of experience in our community. The very first lodge in Texas was instituted in Houston, as Lone Star Odd Fellow Lodge Number One on July 25, 1838 by Jacob DeCordova, Grand Master of Louisiana.
  • In 1885 the I.O.O.F. established a home, which was the home for widows, orphans and the aged for many years. The home was a fully functioning micro-community that helped educate the orphans and offered relief for the distressed, which are charges of the Order. Below is a picture of this community. In 1905 the Home for the Aged was established in Ennis, Texas and it is the Retirement Home in our Retirement Community today.
