Resident of the Month - Clifford Robinson
Posted on Mar 1st, 2012

Around the age of fifteen Cliff and his family moved to Weatherford and he graduated from Millsap High School. After graduation Cliff worked with his brother on a cattle ranch briefly. Shortly after turning eighteen he was drafted into the Army. Cliff  shipped out to Korea and served in the Army until 1947.
He then went to work for Montgomery Wards in FortWorth. At this time he also had signed up to serve for eight years in the Active Reserves, working with them two nights a week. While working for Montgomery Wards Cliff met the love of his life, Wilma Jean Pigg. They married on July 1, 19 51 and not long after they were transferred to the Montgomery Wards store in Jackson, Mississippi. While in Jackson, Cliff had the opportunity work for K. Wolens Department store. Cliff took this position and was later transferred to the K. Wolens Store in Dallas.
It appears that Cliff had earned a reputation for turning stores around that were having some difficulties, so from Dallas store  to Kilgore, then to Tyler,  and finally to the Ennis store where he decided to settle with his family, he worked for over twenty years at the Ennis K Wolens store. Cliff and his wife, bought a home, made friends in the community and raised their two sons and a daughter here in Ennis. Cliff and his wife have been members of the Church of Christ for over fifty years.
Cliff made his home at the Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home on May 5, 2010. Cliff continues to enjoy spending time with the love of his life, Jean Robinson. Cliff enjoys activities such as Bingo, music, dominoes, reading, church services, visiting with family, friends, holiday events and celebrations. He has a passion for Christian music and Church programs.

Cliff says that he enjoys the friends that he has made at Odd Fellow and Rebekah Nursing Home as well as the staff that take good care of him, they help me in so many ways. I have been blessed in my life and this is just one more blessing.
